Triangle Youth Music Summer Programs

Registration for Summer 2024 Camps is now OPEN!


Triangle Youth Music is excited to offer several programs this summer for string and jazz musicians.

See below for more information on each of the programs.


Tuition for Half Day Camps is $300, Full Day Camps is $500, and tuition for Weekly Summer String Orchestra is $100.

 Financial Aid is offered for all programs.

Weekly Summer String Orchestra (3rd - 6th Grade)

Mondays from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

June 17th - July 22nd

Peace Presbyterian Church, Cary


We are excited to be offering our summer session for strings again this summer. This session is designed for young musicians in (rising) 3rd grade through 6th grade who have at least 1 year of experience on their instrument but may be new to the orchestra experience. Through our summer session they will learn what it is like to be a part of an orchestra and play with other musicians. We will meet for 6 weeks and present an “in-formance” concert on the last day to show what the students have learned. Summer Session is led by TYM artistic staff members, Myriah Luke and Meaghan Clayton.

Jazz Camp (all levels)

July 22 - July 26th

Price Music Center - NC State University

Full Day Camp - $500


All levels accepted, directed by TYJB director Kobie Watkins and TYJE Gregg Gelb. Students will be broken up into smaller groups based on skill level. Musicians will explore jazz style, improvisation, and prep for TYM auditions (if applicable).

String Orchestra Half/Full Day Camp (all levels)

July 29th - August 2nd

Peace Presbyterian Church in Cary

Half Day - $300, Full Day - $500


Directed by Meaghan Clayton and Myriah Luke, string summer camp will be a little different this year! From 9 AM - 12 PM, string students of any level can participate in traditional orchestra camp.


For those who want to stay for the full day, 1 PM - 4 PM is our new enrichment session, where students can select two options each day, including:

  • Chamber Music (for intermediate/advanced students)
  • TYM Audition Prep
  • Music Theory
  • Music History, and/or Music Composition/Arranging.


Please note: the enrichment portion is only available to students who participate in the morning session.
