On February 8, 1988 the first rehearsal of the Triangle Youth Philharmonic was held with 35 musicians at East Cary Junior High School.
This endeavor to have "our own orchestra" was instigated by a petition from the musicians to Hugh Partridge in January of that year which read in part,
"With our talents, the support of our parents, and you as our conductor, we know we could have a terrific orchestra." And so, the Philharmonic Association was born. |
